Generations at Work

Description

The BYU workplace is increasingly generationally diverse with at least four generations of people included. In this interactive workshop, led by Greg Danklef of HRD, you will learn to understand and work better with the generations sharing your workplace. Implications will be discussed for leadership, collaboration and motivation of each generation including tradionalists (born between 1925 and 1945), baby boomers (born between 1946 and 1964), Gen X (born between 1965 and 1979), and Gen Y or Millenials (born between 1980 and 1999).  The areas of discussion will be:

- Understanding the Generations
- Differing perspectives represented by each generation
- How to engage workers from each generation
- Implications for the Work environment
- Communication: Hierarchy, Job Etiquette, Training
